Thanks so much for stopping by. Our goal is to provide real opportunities to buyers and sellers of surplus and obsolete metal and other raw material inventories. For those new to the site please click on the following link for some help in understanding how our system works:
Initially, all of the metal categories and forms that we currently have in "The Metal Exchange" are displayed so you may review them all. But, if you wish to focus on just the material you're interested in, you may select just certain variables from the dropdown menus and narrow your search. You may select multiple choices within a dropdown menu by using the Windows "Ctrl/Enter" feature, or if you are using a tablet, you can touch the "ALL" option (to disable it) and then touch any of the selections you prefer to see.
Once you have made your selections, hit the "Enter" key on your computer or the "Go" button on your tablet, and a list of just those items will display. You may also hit the Reset button and start over and select as many combinations as you wish.
If you see some items you are interested in buying, please check the box to the left of the item(s) of interest, scroll to the very bottom of the list, and click on the "Create Material Request Report" button. This will allow you to create a form that catalogs your interest and allows you to send that Request right to our associates so they can follow up on it. If you prefer, you can certainly give us a call at 800-822-5052 and we will be happy to speak to you about the items you're interested in.
Please remember that items change constantly so it is important that you check regularly. Please visit as often as you wish so you can take advantage of every opportunity!
Welch Aluminum Metals & Materials has been in business since 1985. It specializes in helping Distributors and Manufacturers buy and sell surplus and obsolete raw material inventory. We are offered millions and millions of pounds of material every year in aluminum, stainless steel, steel, galvanized, galvalume, galvanneal, and other metals: in sheet, coil, plate, and other forms.
We negotiate in good faith with both buyers and sellers and try to always provide as good a return as we can to the seller, and an excellent purchasing opportunity for the customer. It won't work any other way!
We Are Always Looking For Reliable Sources of Material...
Although Metal Distributors and Producing Mills will always be, and should always be the primary source of material for the metal consuming industries, we feel as though we provide a very valuable service by assisting in the movement of surplus and obsolete inventories when they develop.
In spite of the fact that we have been in business for over thirty years, our sources of material can always be expanded. Our ultimate goal is to consolidate and provide the most complete list of surplus and obsolete metal raw material that we can from around the world, and put it in one place, on one site.
Through "The Metal Exchange", buyers of raw material will be able to log onto our site, 24/7/365, and see at the same time, what surplus is available from hundreds of different sources from both North America and around the world. This will save them untold hours every time they do it and it will provide tremendous exposure for the sellers.
We have already built a very sophisticated information and communication system that allows us to not only publish "The Metal Exchange" efficiently, but one that also allows us to communicate directly with customers through our semi automated sales memos routine which can target specific items for specific customers based on their normal usages. This is a very, very powerful tool.
Over the next weeks, months, and even years, we will be contacting many sources and inviting them to supply us with their surplus and obsolete inventory, not their normal stock items, so that we can make this surplus available to our ever-increasing customer base. It is extremely important that this list be as accurate as possible so we ask sources to please let us know when items are taken off of the market.
We Are Always Looking For Good Customers...
Because we are offered so much material, and because we anticipate getting so much more as we expand our reach here and around the world, we are constantly looking for customers who appreciate the value of surplus and obsolete material and who are anxious to take advantage of spot buying opportunities when they present themselves.
If this sounds like you and your company, we would love to put our system and our associates to work for you, absolutely free. All you need to do is call us at 800-822-5052, or email us through this web site and let us know what it is you're interested in purchasing, and we will put that information into our system so we can start to make you aware of opportunities.
Thanks again for taking the time to visit today. We hope we have answered most of your questions. If you want to reach us so we can discuss ways we might help you sell or buy excellent surplus and obsolete raw material inventory, you can do so in the following ways:
Click on the "Contact Us" link in the upper right hand corner of this screen and provide us with your name, company name, phone number, email address, and a brief comment about what you're interested in on the form provided and hit the Send button.
Click on the "Home" page link in the lower and upper right hand corner of this screen which will expose you to the "Great Opportunities to Buy" and "Great Opportunities to Sell" links in the center of the circle which will provide you with some additional information and allow you to send us an email from there as well.
You may also click on "The Metal Exchange" link in the very top of the circle on this page and go directly to the Offers List so you can see how the material is presented for sale and/or you can see if there is anything available now that you'd be interested in. If there is, we provide you with the opportunity to prepare and send us a Material Request Report which will start the ball rolling towards a purchase and sale.
Lastly, if you prefer, you can just give us a call at 800-822-5052 and an associate will be happy to speak with you.
No matter which way you choose to communicate, we'd love to hear from you and we look forward to helping your company. Have a great day!
Welch Aluminum Metals & Materials has been in business since 1985 and specializes in helping manufacturers and distributors save money on their cost of raw material, without sacrificing the necessary quality. We are offered millions of pounds of material every year in aluminum, stainless steel, steel, galvanized, galvalume, galvanneal, and other metals: in sheet, coil, plate, and other forms. Our primary focus is on prime and secondary surplus and obsolete raw material, but we also source hard to find items through warehouse/distributor friends of ours, and we have excellent relationships with a number of producing mills and importers. In fact, we have great mill buying opportunities right now for prime 5052 in both coils and sheets. We negotiate in good faith with both sellers and buyers, we deliver the material right to the customer’s door, can provide it “as is” or “cut-to-size”, we stand behind everything we sell, we don't play one customer against another one (because your time is way too valuable for that), and we will always provide as good a return as we can to the seller, and an excellent purchasing opportunity for the customer.
We Are Always Looking For Reliable Sources of Material...
Although we have been in the business of buying and selling surplus and obsolete raw material inventory for almost twenty-five years, we are just beginning the process of building our business to the level we envisioned for it a long, long time ago. Our ultimate goal is to have material from hundreds of sources, and have thousands of customers worldwide, serviced by a state-of-the-art information system and by a dedicated team of associates who are both close to the sources, and to the customers. Nobody wants to have prime or secondary surplus or obsolete inventory, but it is a fact of life.
What we have tried to do is build the infrastructure that can support the organizing and dissemination of information about those availabilities to customers that can utilize it, so that both the seller and the buyer of the material benefit. Towards this end, over the next weeks, months, and years, we will be contacting sources from both North America and around the world. We will be inviting them to supply us with their surplus and obsolete inventory so that we might make it available to our ever-increasing customer base. We want to consolidate as much material as we can, and provide the most complete list of surplus and obsolete metal raw material as there is anywhere on earth, in one place, so that buyers will have just one place to go to find everything they need. This will take some time to complete, but we invite your support while we build it together. Our goal is lofty, but attainable.
We Are Always Looking For Good Customers...
Because we are offered so much material, and because we anticipate getting so much more as we expand our reach around the world, we are constantly looking for customers who appreciate the value of surplus and obsolete material, who are anxious to take advantage of spot buying opportunities, and who realize that the easiest way to make money is to buy wisely. If this sounds like you and your company, we would love to put our associates to work for you, absolutely free. All you need to do is call us at 800-822-5052, or email us through this web site and let us know what it is you’re interested in purchasing, and we will put your usages into our system and start looking for material for you.
Sales Memos And Who They Go To...
The reality of the marketplace today is that most surplus and obsolete raw material inventory doesn't stay on the market very long. As a result, as soon as we become aware of it, we do a preliminary evaluation to see if it appears to be compatible with our customer database. If we feel it is, we either electronically or manually upload it into our system. After that, we do an actual "Match" to see which of our customers, are the best candidates for it. Once identified, we create Sales Memos for them that present the items in a uniform, consistent, and professional way. They are then sent to them automatically through our automated email/faxing system. After that, our team of qualified associates follows up with them via phone, fax, or email (depending on the customer’s preference).
What is “netWORK”?
“netWORK” is our state-of-the-art, Internet-based software system. It is designed to facilitate the above process. Because of this process, a certain percentage of the material we are offered never makes it to our web site and to “The Metal Exchange”. It is sold on a direct basis to the customers we have already contacted. That's why we encourage every metal consumer to have his or her usages loaded into "netWORK", so that they will be contacted first.
“The Metal Exchange”
This is where items appear that aren’t immediately sold. This is where all of our customers and potential customers can have access to them. They are offered on a first come, first served basis. Once on “The Metal Exchange” the HOT ITEMS, U.S. Distributor Excess Inventory, U.S. Mill, and Importer (Offer Types) are items that are available now. Our Recently Sold items are just that, but they can give you some insight into the breadth of items we handle.
The HOT ITEMS are true surplus items that the owner is motivated to move. These will offer the best money saving opportunities. The U.S. Distributor Excess Inventory offers are items owned by independent and national chain service centers throughout the U.S. that are for the most part, prime with certs. These are items that have lost a certain amount of their value to the owners, and they can provide some cost savings versus the cost of purchasing material in the current market or using your current stock, but the savings will be more modest. All of the other Offer Types we offer will be self-explanatory.
All of these items change constantly so we invite you to visit the site and check them out as often as you can, and particularly when you are about to make a specific purchase. If you have interest in any of the items, we really encourage you to call us at 800-822-5052 so we can react to your interest as soon as possible. If that’s not possible, we suggest that you place a checkmark beside them and click on the Create a Material Request Report button at the bottom of the list. By doing so you will be generating a report that will come right to us and let us know what you are interested in. We will follow it up as soon as we can.
Thanks again for taking the time to visit today. We hope we have answered most of your questions. Have a great day!
