Sales Memos And Who They Go To...
The reality of the marketplace today is that most surplus and obsolete raw material inventory doesn't stay on the market very long. As a result, as soon as we become aware of it, we do a preliminary evaluation to see if it appears to be compatible with our customer database. If we feel it is, we either electronically or manually upload it into our system. After that, we do an actual "Match" to see which of our customers, are the best candidates for it. Once identified, we create Sales Memos for them that present the items in a uniform, consistent, and professional way. They are then sent to them automatically through our automated email/faxing system. After that, our team of qualified associates follows up with them via phone, fax, or email (depending on the customer’s preference).
What is “netWORK”?
“netWORK” is our state-of-the-art, Internet-based software system. It is designed to facilitate the above process. Because of this process, a certain percentage of the material we are offered never makes it to our web site and to “The Metal Exchange”. It is sold on a direct basis to the customers we have already contacted. This is where items appear that aren’t immediately sold. This is where all of our customers and potential customers can have access to them. They are offered on a first come, first served basis. Once on “The Metal Exchange” the HOT ITEMS, U.S. Distributor Excess Inventory, U.S. Mill, and Importer (Offer Types) are items that are available now.
